Self-awareness means having clear knowledge about yourself including your strengths, weakness, motivation, beliefs, etc. It is basically what you know about yourself and how well you know about yourself. It is the capability to know and accept your flaws and perfections as well and appreciate yourself the way you are.
It is the ability to see ourselves clearly, to understand who we are, to know how others see us, to know how we fit into the world. Self-awareness creates self-identity, and it gives rise to self-esteem. It is basically the self-knowledge we have about ourselves.

Now, the question is why is self-awareness important? why is it so necessary to be self-aware? have you ever thought about it? Let me walk you through it.
So, when you are self-aware about yourself then you have a better insight about yourself. when you know about yourself it makes it easier to adjust and adapt to the world.
And especially when we are self-aware, we know what is not good for us and we can change it according to the situation and given circumstances. Because nobody knows you more than you.
Awareness helps you in having the opinion about other people, how they perceive you, how they recognize you, and how you respond and react to them. It helps to be the best version of ourselves.
Because when you do not know yourself then it acts as a barrier to your interpersonal relationships which would be detrimental. Because resolving conflicts with other people is a bit tedious but resolving conflicts within yourself is very challenging and if you are not self-aware then it would be a very complicated task as it would result in having conflicts with other people.
Self-awareness will not fix every problem in your life, but it can be a starting point in your life. If you are self-aware enough, then you would improve yourself into being the best version of yourself and you would know which goals are to be set to achieve all those requirements. You will have a healthier relationship with yourself and other people as well.
